Loosely inspired by Timothy Leary's Interpersonal Circumplex, The Shape of Things is a 24-question quiz that generates a unique shape in response to details about an individual's personality. Each shape produced by the quiz can be printed on paper and folded into a three-dimensional object. The quiz draws influence from a variety of pseudo-scientific sources and digital distractions ranging from fake news and Buzzfeed quizzes to astrology charts and political twitter feeds. While taking the quiz is intended as a personal experience, The Shape of Things aims to form an overall picture of our world in its current state.
Quiz booths and physical installations of the shapes have been exhibited at Front/Space, Kansas City, MO, UCLA, New Wight Gallery, Los Angeles, CA, and Hunter College, NYC. Created under the collaborative moniker, BESTTEST.
